HTML (Hyper Text Markup Language) and CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) are the core technologies of most web pages. HTML gives a webpage its structure and determines the location and order of text, images, and other elements. CSS gives a web page its appearance or styling. CSS controls things like color, font-size, width/height, and margins/padding.
CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) is a stylesheet language for adding styling to documents written in a markup language.
Benefits of CSS:
- Pages download faster, sometimes by as much as 50%
- You have to type less code, and your pages are shorter and neater. CSS is more DRY than HTML
- The look of your site is kept consistent throughout all the pages because all pages draw from same stylesheet
- Updating your design and general site maintenance are made much easier
Cascading Style Sheets (or CSS) are used to define the visual presentation of HTML documents. CSS3 builds upon previous versions of CSS by providing modularization of components, backwards compatibility, and the addition of several powerful new features.
