You may not know that appendTo is a virtual workplace. Currently, we have 23 people working all across the U.S. and in Europe. We each work from our own homes (or local coffee shops or restaurants when we need to be out) and use the Internet to communicate, meet, collaborate on work, and stay accountable.

appendTo is excited to welcome Brian Edgerton to the team. Brian got started working with appendTo under contract last winter after connecting with us via Twitter. He’s now serving as a JavaScript Engineer full time.

appendTo is offering two new training opportunities in May. The first is a three-hour per day, five-day remote live jQuery training that runs from Monday, May 7 through Friday, May 11. It’s offered in two time zones—from 9 a.m. to 12 noon Eastern time and from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Pacific time. The second opportunity is a three-day jQuery training in Omaha, Neb., that runs from Monday, May 21 through Wednesday, May 23 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Registration is open now.

We’re excited to welcome Augusta Hammock to appendTo full time. Augusta has been designing and developing for the Web since 2000, with a deep-running affinity for usability, front-end and back-end technologies (especially jQuery and PHP).
The company hired Augusta right out of college because she displayed great potential and she has thrived under an appendTo mentorship program. As she has quickly ramped up in her experience and skills, she’s made great contributions to a variety of projects appendTo delivers.

It’s been an exciting week at appendTo, as we’ve been ramping up to release a new product called Juice UI. Juice UI is a collection of WebForms components that brings jQuery UI Widgets to your project with ease.
